Dennis Basso Fashion Show Spring/Summer 2017

Brown is definitely the new black for Dennis Basso's SS17 collection! The show was all about neutrals with models strutting the stage with colors of brown, taupe, nude, and silver. The inspiration of Basso’s collection was “Great Voyagers of our Time,” showcasing a range of dresses made up of suede, lace, chiffon, and even fur detailing!

Not only was there a range of materials used to construct each look, but there was an also a mixture of styles from the classic cocktail dress, to the trendy midi, and even the elegant long dresses that billowed behind the models.

Even though history was the main focus of his inspiration, the looks were far from classic! Basso’s SS17 collection was very modern with models wearing chokers, hair slicked back, and plenty of metallic!

As I was watching Basso’s show, I realized that I’ve been noticing a lot of metallics incorporated in the different shows I’ve attended. I foresee neutral metallics being all the rage next year!
